GPA Support, Test Prep, and College Counseling
NC Global Tenth Grade Plan
While all NC Global Plans are customized to meet the unique needs and challenges of each student, common components often include homework support, test preparation, and college admission counseling. A central theme in NC Global’s Tenth Grade Plans is the need to be proactive and start early. Don’t wait until problems arise, but rather know what to expect and prepare far in advance. Examples of specific suggestions in NC Global’s Tenth Grade Plans are: college visits, advanced learning for difficult subjects, and formation of a strategic test-taking calendar. In general, the NC Global Tenth Grade Plans allow students to expand the admission process and use time to its best advantage. Along the way, we provide assistance in finding highly competitive internships and jobs, service opportunities, and rigorous summer academic and enrichment programs.
Early College Admission Counseling
To prevent students from making the mistake of waiting too long to prepare for college admission, NC Global spreads out the process over several years, incorporating admissions strategies developed by industry expert Neil Chyten and helping students to create and take advantage of opportunities that will set their college applications and résumés apart from their peers. NC Global guarantees outstanding college applications that will highlight students’ unique and superior qualifications, leading to higher rates of acceptance among top colleges and universities.
AP, SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Test-Preparation
Starting test-taking early is ideal for a number of reasons. First, you create more time to increase your scores by taking more tests early on, and if you end up scoring high from the beginning, you have more time to dedicate to perfecting your academics. Second, spreading out the test-taking process can alleviate stress caused by having too many tests and not enough time. Third, starting early can highlight test-taking tendencies and propensities that might steer you toward ACT rather than SAT. Fourth, starting early can allow students to build strong cases for admission by accumulating as many high scores as possible on SAT Subject Tests, ACT and SAT! Finally, taking several tests can allow students to focus on individual test sections in order to produce much higher ACT and SAT overall scores.
